Meet Build & Brew

A Build & Brew group is a crew of 4 to 8 people who meet every week, virtually or in person, to work on hands-on projects together.

With every project, you're also building a portfolio of hands-on work that you can share or use for job applications!

What makes Build & Brew different?

These aren’t theory sessions. No passive workshops, no lectures, no one person dominating the room. The culture is built around learning and having fun together, much closer to a group of friends figuring things out than a class.

The 9 rules of Build & Brew (B&B)

Every B&B group must meet weekly, virtually or in-person.
The goal of each B&B session is to work on, or complete, a hands-on project. NO THEORY!
Every session has one Build Master who is responsible for preparing the session’s project for the group.
Every session has one Brew Master who is responsible for ambience and good vibes.
If a B&B member misses a session, it is their responsibility to catch up on the missed project in their own time, ready for the next session.
If a B&B member misses three sessions in a row without alerting the group, they are removed from the B&B group.
A B&B group must have a minimum of four people, and a maximum of eight.
New B&B members can only join with the full consensus of the existing group members.

Know Your Role

Every Build & Brew group is made of three roles:

⚒️ Build Master

The Build Master prepares the session's project for the group. You pick the project, run through it beforehand, and make sure the group can hit the ground running when the session starts.

This role is for you if you want to develop leadership skills by guiding a group through a hands-on build. Build Masters and Brew Masters get access to a Training that covers how to run a Build & Brew group.

☕️ Brew Master

The Brew Master is responsible for ambiance and good vibes. You create a welcoming, energizing environment so the group stays motivated and connected while building together.

This role is for you if you love bringing people together and want to build community-leadership experience. Build Masters and Brew Masters get access to a Training that covers how to run a Build & Brew group.

🤘 Member

A Member is an active participant in the weekly build sessions. Simpy bring your laptop and come along every week!

This role is for you if you want a consistent crew to build projects with every week. You walk away with a growing portfolio of hands-on projects and a network of people learning alongside you.
