Autocapture Terms of Service

nextwork ready waits in the folder you run it from. A recording starts when you press Record on your NextWork project page, and pauses or ends when you press Pause or Finish there.

While a recording is on, this CLI captures text only:

• Terminal: commands, folder, exit code and duration. No terminal output.
• Code: git diffs and changed files, including start and stop snapshots.
• Assistants: Claude Code prompts, replies and tool inputs. Results up to 2 KB only for Read, Write, Edit, MultiEdit and single-file Grep after file exclusions are checked. Other tool results become gaps.

It never captures screenshots or keystrokes. File capture skips credential and git-ignored files. Commands and assistant text can still contain copied file content; prompts and replies remain captured within your project's sessions.

Activity outside the folder you ran nextwork ready in is excluded. Nothing is captured while waiting, while paused, or when recording is off.

Stop at any time with exit or nextwork stop. Unreadable activity is marked as a gap.

Secrets are masked before local storage and upload, and again on the server. Masking can miss a secret that doesn't look like one, so keep real secrets out.

Your email, hostnames and IP addresses remain part of your evidence, and what you capture can include other people's information.

Evidence goes over a secure connection to NextWork's servers on Google Cloud, for your account. When a recording stops, NextWork may send it to Google's Gemini AI models on Google Cloud to write your project's work page. Emails, phone numbers and card numbers are masked first, and Google doesn't use it to train its models.

Your project's work page is public: anyone with its link can see it, and it can show everything a recording captured. NextWork staff don't read it unless you ask, to keep the service safe, or when the law requires.

You can also send your report to anyone, like a recruiter.

Evidence is kept while you keep recording, then deleted 30 days after you last record. nextwork purge, or Start over on your project page, deletes a recording and its evidence straight away. Your project's work page keeps a copy of what it shows from a recording, with emails, phone numbers, card numbers and IP addresses hidden, until you delete that copy there, delete the recording or delete the project. Work pages already written from it stay until you ask us to remove them. Deleting your NextWork account deletes all your recordings.

Work not yet sent stays encrypted on this computer until it uploads, or until nextwork purge or nextwork logout erases it.
