Build Azure and DevSecOps Projects

Build production-focused Azure, DevSecOps, MLOps, and cloud projects.

Introduction

Join BrewOps Lab

Build & Brew is NextWork's community program for groups of 4–8 people who meet each week to build together.

BrewOps Lab is Aakash Suryavanshi's Build & Brew group. Members turn Microsoft Azure, DevSecOps, cloud infrastructure, MLOps, and production AI into projects they can run and demonstrate.

Quick Facts
  • When: Every Tuesday at 9:00 PM CT.
  • Where: NextWork Discord.
  • What: Production-focused projects across Azure, DevSecOps, MLOps, cloud infrastructure, and production AI.
  • Membership: Open for new members.

Explore the Project Roadmap

Each weekly session turns one production problem into a working project. Aakash guides the group through the architecture, build, security checks, and a result members can demonstrate.

The roadmap connects six areas used to build and operate modern systems:

  • Microsoft Azure infrastructure, networking, storage, identity, and security.
  • DevSecOps practices and secure CI/CD pipelines.
  • Docker containers and Kubernetes deployments.
  • Terraform automation and repeatable infrastructure.
  • Linux operations, monitoring, reliability, and incident troubleshooting.
  • MLOps workflows, RAG systems, and production AI.

Why combine Azure and DevSecOps?

Azure gives the group a concrete cloud platform for testing architecture decisions. You can see how networking, storage, identity, and compute fit together.

DevSecOps adds security checks throughout the delivery process. Each project connects a working deployment with the controls that keep it dependable.

Build the playlist projects

Every playlist project ends with something members can test or demonstrate. The first confirmed projects cover network security and storage decisions.

  • Control Traffic with Azure NSGs.
  • Azure Storage Decision Lab.
  • Build secure CI/CD pipelines that test and deploy applications.
  • Automate cloud infrastructure with Terraform and Git.
  • Deploy and operate container workloads with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Apply DevSecOps checks to cloud and AI systems.

The roadmap is set. Next, meet the practitioner leading each build.

Meet Your Build and Brew Master

Meet Aakash Suryavanshi, Your Build Master

Production systems, taught by a practitioner

Aakash Suryavanshi builds and runs cloud, software, and AI systems across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

His recent work includes a privacy-focused RAG pipeline on AWS and a Docker microservices architecture that improved document ingestion efficiency by around 40%. He also administers cloud infrastructure, troubleshoots server outages, and manages Nginx, SSL, and Cloudflare security.

As NextWork's Calgary Community Lead, Aakash runs hands-on AI and cloud sessions. He has delivered two guest lectures to more than 20 students.

Teaching through real builds

Aakash taught students to build an AI security scanner with the Gemini API, then deploy it to Azure through CI/CD. He also records technical sessions for YouTube so learners can revisit the full build.

Each Build & Brew session connects architecture decisions to a working result. You leave with something you can test, explain, and improve.

Nice Work!
